Why do students get treated better than non students?

I've noticed since I've started my Biomedical science course that students seem to get treated better than non students who work or don't work. It just seems since I've started uni that i get treated differently than when i wasn't in uni. Older adults always seem more interested to start a conversion with me after i tell them what i'm studying . (I don't work)

I was in court for something i did while i was drunk, and after they found out i was a university student they seemed to give me a slap on the wrist. Quite strange that if i was on the dole and not doing anything they would of gave me a harder punishment.

how do you know they would have given you a harder punishment?

My solicitor said that it shows that i'm "improving" my life, and if i was a deadbeat on the dole that it wouldn't look as good. University students are gods gift in the courts eyes.

Because students are the ones who go on to change the world
Well 75% of the judiciary are privately educated and I guarantee all went to uni so what do you expect they like people who mirror them I guess
