As the title suggests i am thinking of retraining and entering the field of psychotherapy. I originally attended university on a BSc in mental health but after 5 years and one very long delay (that i wont be going into here) i ended up failing my course just before the end of second year. While i intend to appeal the decision, i have come to the realisation that in mental health from a nursing point of view isn't for me.

I am now posting this in the hope of getting some input from people either studying with an aim of working in psychotherapy or people who already work in the field. I'd like to know how best to get into a job i.e would i need a psychology degree or are there other options? Also if i needed to return to university would i be likely to get funding from student finance?
