Those kind of calls really don't happen often. They do release stupid 999 calls occasionally and there are never many each time (there's only 3 or 4 in that clip) because there are not that many to release.(Original post by 2scotty)

The actual problem is people who call 999 when they don't need an ambulance /police /fire engine. So that's things like the high temperature but covered in blankets. And that's what your system isn't intending to address.

She said they get 1500 calls per day. Over 50% of calls are like that. So say that's 750 wasted calls per day... imagine they got around £9 per call (£3 per minute for 3 minutes), that would make £6,750.
That is just West Midlands Police. Imagine every service and every force...
Yes some people are stupid but how much would it exactly cost to 'educate' these Jeremy Kyle viewers??
