I'm in desperate need of ideas! I'm in final year at uni and I need to pitch my idea for my major project in one week but i'm in a total creative block right now

The problem is that our project has to 'solve a problem'. So instead of just doing any cool idea for a short film, it has to sort of mean something and have a purpose. That's the part i'm struggling with.
I'm hoping to include some sort of special effects in the film because that's what i enjoy doing but it's not totally necessary.

Any ideas at all, throw them this way please! Even if they sound silly the will be hugely appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

this is probably way too late but in case it can help someone else here's what you can do:
start from the end of the story, as in think of what your goal is (if suffering from creative block just take a quick walk and find inspiration from outside or by observing people)
Once you know where to end the story/plot just start with something, anything because you can always change it later when the story is complete.
As for the part about it having to solve something you could use the idea of starting from the end again, just start at the end point you want to reach and then on to the start slowly leading up to solving it.
i use this technique with lots of things that require creativity because i was taught to do it in my gcse literature english exam.
