    Hey,

I've completed an Access to HE diploma and as I was a January starter I have completed the course in full. Pending the final external moderation I know the grades I achieved for everything.

I was thrilled to get an offer through from University of Birmingham of 30 credits and Distinction and 15 at Merit and thought that would be my eventual results.

I had, however, forgot about a pesky unit at the start of the course where I only achieved a pass. So my final break down of credits is 33 Distinction, 9 Merit and 3 pass.

I have mailed admissions already but I'm so anxious I thought I would see if theres been similar positions before, could that 1 unit mean I won't be accepted?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, you have missed the offer so may not be accepted. You'll have to contact the uni and see what they say. They may ask you to wait a while before they can decide, as they need to know how many spare places they have after everyone else has met their offer, and this early in the cycle they won't know how many applicants will be making the course their firm or insurance choice.

1 pass! That's some incredible results.

I would be really surprised if they didn't accept that. Especially considering you have 3 more distinctions than required.

I know Accounting and Finance isn't particularly an in demand course at UoB. Do you think that increases my chances?

It might do, because they are more likely to have spaces left on the course. But they might feel you need a particular background to do well at the course so don't want to let applicants in without the grades
