Hey, I've had one for abput 6 months now. I had it inserted under general anesthetic thankfully, during another proceedure. I had some heavy period type pains for a few weeks and my periods were heavier and erratic for the first few months. Other than that, I had a bout of BV which is fairly common on insertion which was treated with antibiotics. After about the four month mark I have no adverse symptoms and it will last for 10 years. This is great for me as I hace tried almost all other hormonal methods with unwanted side effects.
