I'm interested in getting a Macbook Air. On the Apple website, it says 'up to 12 hour batter life'

Anyone who has an Air, how long does the battery actually last?

30 minutes. However, I download a lot of porn and stuff, so it may well be 12 hours.

I have a Macbook Pro and the battery life is as stated however after you fully charge it a set amount of times (i think it's something over 500) the battery is bound to change in efficiency

Battery life is entirely subjective based on what you are doing. Asking people here what the battery life is like is no more helpful than Apple telling you it's 12 hours. I can make my laptop last for 2 hours by doing really intensive tasks or weeks by closing the lid and leaving it suspended.

A better idea would be to read reviews for the Air and see what they say for battery tests. Manufacturer claims tend to be under extreme conditions, such as screen at lowest brightness, WiFi turned off and so on.

Stupidly that's still more work than the conditions that manufacturers test batteries in. It's pretty representative of real life though so everyday battery tests should point you in the right direction. Macbooks are generally known for having good battery life so assuming you buy brand new I'd expect that sort of normal usage to get around 8-10 hours. Obviously watching a movie takes me power than writing a document in word though. Battery life does of course degrade over time but you shouldn't struggle to get through the day.
