Hi everyone. I got accepted into the MSc course for Conservation and Biodiversity at Uni Exeter's Penryn campus. Anyone have any criticisms of the Penryn campus or the course? Personally I heard that the Ecological consultation module wasnt very well organized. :/

I did visit the campus and it is stunning with modern facilities. That made me excited!

    Any info is much appreciated!

I'm going to move this to the Exeter forum so hopefully you'll get better responses there. This is quite as specific question so see if the uni can put you in touch with current or former students.

I'm studying Geology here. The campus is relatively small compared to other universities, but that's because it focuses on a smaller number of courses, therefore I'm positive your course will be well organised, with good facilities and you should enjoy it. Penryn itself is a quiet town, but there are more and more students coming down here therefore the campus is often busy during term time. Not just University of Exeter but also Falmouth University (arts), and the campus is shared with them (some of their courses is based in Fal). Falmouth is the town next to us, there are buses every 10 minutes, £1 per way with your student card, 15 minutes journey, 10 minutes by train and a bit less driving. That's where people go out at night, there's also beaches (great for surfers), pubs etc... There's also the Stannary bar in the Penryn Campus, which hosts many events and you can go there for a drink, lunch, game of pool, etc.
The library has also good facilities, with IT rooms, silent areas, etc., although like everywhere else gets very busy during exam times. The Student Information Desk is very helpful, and there are staff that will help you with whatever you need or have a problem with.
There's a considerable amount of societies and sports to get involved with whenever you have spare time. Great way to socialise.
Halls: Glasney View, Glasney Park and the cottages are in Campus, with the Sidings being near the train station, 10-15 minute walk to campus.
I have just wrote this very quickly so ignore any spelling/grammar mistakes

Hi I'm doing MSc conservation science and policy, so we'll probably share some modules. I have heard mixed things about some of the modules, but the range and quality of lecturers is what attracted me.

Great to meet you Kylemondo! What in particular did you hear about the modules? I'm coming from Guam and am excited to attend a UK uni irregardless, and also looking forward to be so close to the beach.
