Happy Chinese New Year everyone! This year is the year of the Rooster

Chinese food is up there amongst my favourite cuisines. There are loads of different types and styles of Chinese cooking depending on the region.

I'm going to share two of my go to recipes and my typical Chinese takeaway order:

    Festive golden five-spice chicken

Five spice duck breasts with soy and honey

My typical Chinese takeaway order usually contains some combination of these dishes:

    Steamed dumplings
    Peking duck and pancakes
    Salt and pepper king prawns
    BBQ ribs
    Stir fried Chinese veggies
    Pork and/or prawn chow mein

So what are your favourite Chinese dishes (homemade or takeaway)? What's your typical order?

Do you have any particular Chinese New Year food traditons?

Those recipes are brilliant! The last time I attempted homemade Chinese food it was an absolute disaster… I'll give the chicken a go I think!

I typically go for prawn chow mein, kung po chicken and some salt and pepper squid (:sogood:) when I order - oh, and maybe some spring rolls too.

    Depends what mood I'm in!

Usually duck of some sort or maybe chicken. (duck in plum sauce, duck and pineapple, sweet and sour chicken) Egg fried rice, chow mein or noodles.
