    hi, don't know if i am posting in correct forum- apologies if not

    i sold an item on ebay however the customer wasn't satisfied so they issued a return and refund

    I immediatley refined them the full amount inc postage on the 1st January and haven't received my item back- what do i do? I have emailed the person numerous times but no response

    Why didnt you wait till you received the item back? I think you will need to open a complaint with ebay about it. You put yourself in a vulnerable position. Did the person have good feedback and is consistently active?

    I read online ebay that you must refund before they can send back the item..
    the person has 108 positive feedbacks and 1 negative and last sold something on 24th Jan?

    I dont sell on ebay just buy so am not fmailiar with all their rules. Ask in the ebay community forums as you will get a good response and they will tell you your options. If the rules are as you described, then they must have soemthing to cater for events such as this (maybe suspecion of account etc).

    No, you are right. You are not supposed to refund until you get the item back. Unfortunately, OP may have been scammed.

    8. Once the seller has received your parcel, they’ll process a refund within 6 working days. If you have any problems, we’ll step in to help resolve any issues.

    You can only hope that they return it now. Sorry :/ Was it something expensive?

    I just hope it wasnt a phone......I would never put myself in the position whereby someone can cut and run.
