Is there a thing that your parents make wrong assumptions about? It could be about you specifically or about anything out there (e.g. technology, food, TSR etc...).

    1. That I can have female friends and not be dating them
    2. That I do stay behind at university to do work and not mess around...
    3. That your laptop screen is not a touch screen...

My mum can't understand the difference between Save and Save As, and files and folders (on a computer) no matter how many times I try to explain. She also can't put DVDs on by herself, so when I'm at uni she can't watch them

My mum doesn't seem to understand gaming. She seems to think that every game is simple and quick and you win or lose in a few mins and that's the end of it completely - like Knots and Crosses. She can't comprehend games that have a storyline such as Elder Scrolls, The Witcher etc

Remember when you were younger and they told you to go to bed and switch off the game but you weren't at a save point

My parents and my brother are everything to me but they can't understand it at all. All these years, I've avoided talking about it with them because their view is that I'm "too sensitive" or "perfectionist" and must man up and be a powerful gentleman®.

Same here, they just tell me to "deal with it" and that doesn't help me one bit...
