Seeing me relaxing like playing a game of Fifa, or reading a book that isn't education related isn't a waste of time.

I am human. Human need to relax. Human not robot.

Well, one is dead so I'd imagine they don't understand much anymore.

I've not lived with the other since I left home at 16, so I have no idea. Years ago, I once spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to explain to them how to print a document at the internet cafe - without any luck. Eventually I asked them to give the phone to some kid who was there who of course did it in 3 seconds. :facepalm2:

    1. That I really need alone time
    2. That yes I can be doing nothing much for hours on end
    3. That I would really like to just be able to go out without getting the third degree. Like come on, you've my friends numbers, you know them, I do not need a time limit

Is there a thing that your parents make wrong assumptions about? It could be about you specifically or about anything out there (e.g. technology, food, TSR etc...).

      1. That I can have female friends and not be dating them
      2. That I do stay behind at university to do work and not mess around...
      3. That your laptop screen is not a touch screen...

      Discuss.
      Of course they understand that!

      You are only 5'3" 😈

That I have my whole life to work, but only have one shot at A-levels.
Comparing my current situations to their situations when they were my age is ludicrous considering so much has changed over the decades.
They should stop comparing me to other people because I am not those people. And they should stop comparing me to themselves when they were my age. We may share a lot of genes, but our minds are different. We do not think the same. We are not the same.
