    Hello

I'm planning on taking a gap year to go on digs throughout the year, i'm hoping to do Egyptology at uni, and I had been planning to study AS Archaeology as it was not offered at my school and the syllabus looks interesting. I was also thinking of doing AS Anthropology (either in addition or instead of Archaeology) but i can't seem to find anywhere that offers it as distance learning. Does anyone know if there is a provider of A-level Archaeology or Anthropology for distance learning still around?

I am aware AQA had announced they were axing both subjects but it says on their website that the last exam period is 2018 with re-sits in 2019, so there must be places still doing it, right?

No, I don't know any providers which offer these subjects via distance learning. But technically you don't need a provider, there's nothing to stop you buying the books and doing the work yourself. Distance learning provider really only offer someone to mark your work, they do very little teaching.

Alternatively, you could do one of these distance learning online university modules (see link below), they aren't A levels but they are a good way to make your application stand out. https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/sho....php?t=4155525

Thanks, was considering doing a diploma for Egyptology anyway, are online course particularly recognised by Russel Group universities? Some seem more legitimate than others.

All the modules in that thread are legitimate, credit-bearing modules run by proper universities which will certainly be recognised by Russel Group universities. Oxford also do similar online courses, although they aren't free: https://www.conted.ox.ac.uk/search#/...t=availability
