I want to become a lawyer. What are the best unis? I've read that law firms prefer degrees from the top end universities, is this true?

Tbf they had a point. there are many league tables. All things being equal you should go to the best uni your A level grades can get you in. At the top of the tree is Oxbridge, then about ten others, then the rest of the RG. Just google top universities law uk and you will get several hits with the same unis being mentioned.

Use google again for how to become a solictor or a barrister if that is what you want. I could do it all for you, but its a bit pointless when it is so easy to find. National careers or lawcareers.net will have all the info as well.

I've always wanted to be a lawyer? What's wrong with being a lawyer? And how come you didn't do the full 3 years?

yeah, but I'm obviously asking you for your specific reasons - what is it about the practice of law and the study of jurisprudence that really interests you? what areas of law are you most interested in? what legal academics have inspired you? etc? surely you'd know the answers to these basic, fundamental questions before you step into a path in life that will determine so many of your circumstances from there on out?

and because it was skull-numbingly disappointing and dull. it wasn't necessarily difficult, I just couldn't get the drive to study because I honestly fell asleep in each 2 hour lecture I had, and I was certainly not the only person to do that. if you think that "I'll be good at law because I like arguing", law isn't good for that. you can only argue about facts of a case and precedents, not "arguing about anything you want" like another subject like philosophy or politics or something similar

I don't know what that even means I joined this website like 4 days ago. I didn't even realise I 'repped' someone, so I can't give a reason as to why.
