    Hi everyone!

I have had a severely blocked ear for about a week now. I'm completely deaf in it and the wax or whatever is causing it doesn't seem to be budging. It's really frustrating. my right ear is also half blocked so I have restricted hearing in that ear too. I have been using Otex express ear drops for the past 3 or so days which has supposedly meant to work by now.

Please don't tell me things like 'were not doctors we can't help' or just 'go to the doctors' because my question is; has anyone else experienced this? have you found any home remedies that work? I can't get to a doctor until Monday and I don't really want to wait there for hours if something can be done at home to treat it.

    Thanks

You can have your ears syringed at your surgery if the drops aren't working. It's pretty much either that or using the drops longer. You can also flush your ears with warm water. You can get kits for doing it with otex drops.
The drops you are using should be softening the wax, but the blockage may be sufficiently big that it won't just slip out or will take longer to soften enough. I'd say your best bet is to call your surgery and ask about syringing.
