Labour MP resigns over Corbyn ordering vote in favour of Article 50 watch

    • Thread Starter

Labour MP Tulip Siddiq has resigned from the Labour frontbench over Jeremy Corbyn's order to Labour MPs that they vote in favour of the Article 50 Brexit bill when it comes before the House of Commons.

Labour really is in a bind; a majority of its voters are pro-Remain, but because of the distribution of those voters a majority of its constituencies are pro-Leave. The situation isn't helped by Corbyn's utter incompetence and complete lack of anything resembling a compelling vision for this country's future. His dishonesty on the EU issue also hurts the party (trying to hide his anti-EU views by presenting himself as being weakly and unenthusiastically pro-EU, thus irritated everyone).

Still, I'm not particularly sympathetic to Tulip Siddiq. The only reason she was on the frontbench in the first place is because none of the talented Labour MPs were willing to serve, and Ms Siddiq felt comfortable serving under a man who praised Hamas as being "dedicated to peace and social justice". It is, as Trump would say, "a mess".

Corbyn never liked the EU much

Muslims who support the EU, do you not think the EU serves Zionist interests?
The harsh Iran sanctions including food and medicine.. where's their human rights? The EU's involvement in these regime changes along with America

Come on the EU stinks, NATO stinks worse.

I see a lot of Muslims support it, as they support taking in all the refugees. It serves their interests I suppose..
