Hey everyone, I want to apply for English Literature and French, but it seems that all the English courses with French combined are 4 years?

Is there any way to find one with only 3?

If you do a modern foreign language you have to spend an extra year abroad.

Always? Like is that always the case, or are there any exceptions?

In an overwhelming majority of cases you have to. I can't think of any uni which doesn't have that requirement.

Why wouldn't you want the year abroad? It's clearly an important learning opportunity otherwise it wouldnt be standard practice.

I would love the year abroad but 4 years just seems a bit much, especially since I'm always travelling anyway.
