I'm currently studying law at GSM London the worst university ever and student finance pays £6,000 and I have to pay the £2,000 for my maintenance loan because they capped it at that price I don't work at the moment and i wanted to know if this is right

Yes it is right. The maximum tuition fee loan you can take out if you are going to a private university is £6,000 and if the university charges more then its up to the student to pay the difference.
