Hi, I was just wondering if my gcse grades are good enough for applying to medicine at Birmingham University. English Lang- A* Business Studies- A* Biology- A* Chemistry- A* Physics- A* Computing- A* RS- A* Maths-A English Lit- A French- A. (7A*s 3As)

I was a bit skeptical as I read somewhere that you needed an A* in maths in order to apply and I was just wondering how much of a disadvantage this would put me at considering I got an A.

    Thanks.

Hello! Your GCSEs are fine, aslong as those other A*s are full course GCSEs (Not half course ICT) then you would have a Points score of 5.83 so far. I had that exact score for my GCSEs aswell, but went of the get 3/3 for UKCAT, secured an interview and received an offer. You need to now smash your UKCAT and get the highest score possible. You are not disadvantaged that much by having the A in maths.

    Does that answer your question?

Yes they are all full courses as well as the biology chemistry and physics being IGCSES. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
