Is it lack of information or is it a disease that is actually impossible to cure?

my pathetic AS bio knowledge tells me that it's to do with so many different cancers and mutations being present, there isn't one universal treatment.

in certain types of cancer, i think breast is one of them, researches are getting closer to a cure.

Because there are so many different types of cancer and we still have relatively little understanding of the disease.

Current treatment tend to also kill healthy cells.

      There should be.
But it would destroy pharma companies and cause the loss of thousands of jobs.

There isn't one universal treatment given all the different areas it can affect, it can be caused by a whole array of different mutations which would need different cures each time, and a lot of the treatments we have are a bit crap anyway. Chemotherapy for example is pretty much just the process of poisoning everything in the hopes that you'll kill the cancer cells too.

It wouldn't tho. If a pharma company released the cure for cancer their reputation would go wild and they'd heavily out compete all the others, which is exactly what you'd want to do if you ran a pharmaceutical company, destroy the competition. And in countries like the UK where healthcare is free anyway it makes no sense to withhold a cure in order keep up more expensive treatments as the patients don't pay for them, and NHS is understaffed as is so it would free up plenty of resources to be allocated elsewhere.

Cancer cure conspiracy theories are by far the most ill-conceived ones in existence.

I feel if it was in the interest of big pharma companies to find cures they prolly would sooner.

Cancer has already been cured, many times, but the cures never make it to market. why? because what's available right now [pills etc that you need to keep taking that don't cure it] is more profitable for pharmaceutical companies than an actual cure [one pill/treatment] ..as if people are cured they're gonna stop buying your product.

so every time a cure is found ...they always find some way to brush it under the carpet.... or dismiss it

tbh the only real shot at a proper cure is if it's more profitable for the companies to cure people than it is to treat them indefinitely with pills etc.....
