B in language but D in literature, should I re-sit? watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm in year 12 now and have been reassured many times that my D in literature is not a big deal, but after a meeting with a very experienced university advisor, I was told that I absolutely must retake the exam. The reason I got a D was because I mixed up two of the characters durring the test, and I didn't send my finished coursework to the right place so the drafts I wrote in year 10 got marked, it was a comedy of errors and I know I'm more than capable of getting an A-A*, I enjoy poetry. I have 2 days before signing up to retake GCSE's is closed, retaking the exam will mean redoing all the coursework and studying 15 completely different poems all ontop of my intense IB course. What should I do??? Is it worth retaking the exam? Will American universities even care?

well I think you shouldn't bother yourself by retaking literature because universities mostly look at language
it's not like they'll ask in your interview "what texts did you learn for literature" no! they won't so save yourself the money you would have wasted and don't worry about it:yes:
