I am interested in applying to do art at either the Slade UCL or the ruskin and i was wondering if any successful applicants or anybody who's been through the application process has any advice?

I'm currently in year 12 doing art, photography, history and english. any tips or information would be much appreciated. Thanks !!

Try your best but remember you're competing against applicants who have completed A levels and are taking an Art Foundation Diploma to prepare them better for university...so having a back up plan of a FAD course and reapplying is a good idea.

I received an offer for the Ruskin this year.

My advice would be to not guess what they are looking for, avoid looking at example portfolios and personal statements (they are interested in you, not a replica of previous students), be as true to your interests and intrigue in art as possible, be selective in the works you wish to show, and consider the way you present your portfolio (they accept *any* format from YouTube videos and websites to the more conventional black sleeve portfolio).

If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me.
