    It is an ambition of mine to become an engineer in Formula 1 and I was wondering was the best way would be to become an engineer in Formula 1.

    I am currently finishing my GCSEs and am applying to colleges to study physics, chemistry, maths and DT (design techonolgy)

    Ok - that's a good start. Next up, a Mechanical Engineering course with a year in industry and try to get a placement* at McLaren/Red Bull/Mercedes/etc

    Also you can get involved in things like Formula Student at university.

    Simple

    *You might find these placements are extremely competitive.
