I'm intrigued about this Rocklands House I've been allocated a place in. I sent off my accommodation form a bit late, so I ended up in a shared room in Rocklands House, but I appear to be being charged the price of a catered place in that house, whereas I'm self-catered. Also, I've heard that Rocklands House has no facilities for self-catering, as is the same with the rest of the Beaumont Hall area. So I'm confused, is there something particularly special about Rocklands House that puts the price up?
Also, I'm on Floor 0, Room 1, Bed 1 in Rocklands House. Maybe my roommate is on here It's a long shot, I know, but hey
yh ive been put in beaumont and didnt think it was self catered either
I rang the uni earlier, and apparently Rocklands is being refurbished to accommodate self-catering, so that solves that. They also made a mistake with the price I was quoted.
I dunno what part of Beaumont you're in, but I guess they do make sure you have self-catering facilities. Maybe you should ring Beaumont Hall to clarify. The accommodation office seemed to be clueless about the specifics.
grrr im in wardens i think thats like rocklands not part of the block system, yh i might give them a call tomoro!
I feel like an outcast not being in the main blocks It's like they don't really care as much about us, so they just give us fancy names to make us seem special.
My boyfriend lived in Rocklands in his first year. He then went on to move into a house with six other guys from Rocklands. They had a blast in there first year and I've heard stories about them riding mattresses down the stairs. Although this was a good few years ago. Beaumont is a lovely place. I'm sure you'll be fine!
Yeah Rocklands had a reputation as a bit of a party place. Wardens Lodge is a good place to live too, right next to the secret entrance to the Botanic Gardens
I'm in a few of the pictures, posing like a mug, but hopefully they get the point across. The receptionist, called Sally, at Beaumont is really friendly, and was extremely helpful showing us round and telling us all about the accommodation. Beaumont looks like a really nice place to live, it almost makes it seem worth bearing with a shared room.
