    Hi everyone:absinth:
I have made this thread as a way for us all to put our heads together and to predict what is likely to come up in our exams in 2017.

Feel free to chat to me privately about anything so we can brainstorm ideas.

    I am currently taking:

    Biology (AQA)
    Chemistry (AQA)
    Physics (AQA)
    Business Studies (OCR)
    English Lit and Lang (Edexcel)
    French (OCR)
    Drama (Edexcel)
    History B (AQA)
    Religious Education (AQA)
    Maths (Edexcel)

Please share what you are taking to introduce yourself.

Good Luck Everyone For Your Exams
    :banana2::banana2::banana2:

    I am doing:

    RE Short Course
    Double Science (aqa)
    Maths (aqa)
    English Lang and Lit (aqa)
    History SHP (ocr)
Health and Social care (i think ocr)

I have done my Fine Art exam, business exam (cambridge national) which i got a p2 in, and my media studies GCSE which i got an A in overall

I think that either London or Ozymandias will be in the Poetry exam. I have been watching some Primrose Kitten (on youtube) and she has done many predictions for Science which I am studying off of, I would really recommend her!

Good luck everyone, we can do this!

AQA History (B) - My history teacher was telling us his predictions for this year, and last year all of his predictions were correct and his class did really well.
(Obviously, these depend on the topics you have studied)

    Unit 1

    Causes of WW1
    Bosnian Crises
    Moroccan Crises (1 & 2)
    Kaiser Wilhelm's Foreign Policy
The 10 Demands from Austria-Hungary to Serbia

Treaty of Versailles & The League of Nations
    Abyssinia - 8 marker
    The Big 3
How Germany felt about the terms of the Treaty of Versailles

    Origins of WW2
    Nazi-Soviet Pact
    Anschluss with Austria
Munich Conference - Czechoslovakia (The Sudetenland & Neville Chamberlain's policy of appeasement)

Unit 2 (Apparently Unit 2 is easier to predict)

    Weimar Germany
Stresemann: Economic, Social, Foreign Relations - 6 marks
Munich Putsch/Mein Kampf (Source - How Useful) - 13 marks

    Nazi Germany
The Holocaust/Aggression & Opposition: White Rose & the Bomb Plot - 8 marks
    1933-39: The Enabling Act/Night of the Long Knives/Terror & the SS/Reichstag Fire/Democracy -> Dictatorship/Propaganda - 15 marks

    Race Relations/Civil Rights in America
Brown vs Topeka & Little Rock Nine - 8 marks
    The 60s; Washington March (MLK)/Black Power - 15 marks
    This is amazing thanks!!

I've already done Science (Edexcel), Additional Science (Edexcel), Art (Edexcel) and Graphics (AQA).

    This year I'm doing:
    English Language (AQA)
English Literature (AQA) - An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, Jekyll & Hyde i.e. my worst and power and conflict poetry
    Maths (Edexcel)
Geography (AQA B) - Coasts, Urban, Tourism and Natural Hazards
History (Edexcel B) - Medicine, Germany and Surgery
Photography (Edexcel) which I completed last week.

Apparantly The Prelude is likely to come up for poetry in English Lit.

I feel like the Prelude would be a bit too long to be the given poem. I'd have thought it would be one of the shorter poems. Though, could be wrong!

I think that either London or Ozymandias will be in the Poetry exam.
I'd say this is very unlikely considering Ozymandias was in the Mock; so far in Mocks there has been Power of humans and power of nature so looking likely it will be on Conflict. (Likely Bayonet charge or something like that)

I agree with you; they usually go with the shorter poems. I also think in one of the samples it was storm on the island and power of nature, which The Prelude mostly is, so probably won't be that.

everybody I've spoken to seems to think it will be a war and conflict poem, however i thought it could be "living space" which would probably be asked as a comparison to London with the theme 'place' x
Well considering that WJEC haven't specified 'place' as a theme, I doubt it will be that. It probably won't be any of the easier poems either e.g Valentine, Mametz, Manhunt, The Soldier etc. Having said that I don't think it will be one of the harder ones. A Wife In London with the theme of love could be a good guess, or Death of a Naturalist with change. It's hard to predict because these poems have never been done before so we have nothing to go off, however considering the specimen was To Autumn with nature, it's likely the poem won't be To Autumn and the them won't be nature.

    This year I'm taking

    Biology (AQA)
    Media Studies (OCR)
    Sociology (AQA)
    Statistics (Edexcel)

I think that this year, overall, the grade boundaries will be really high for all subjects - considering that the overall trend is upwards.... Those doing the new 9-1 exams for Maths I think will have the boundaries in their favour, however. Not too sure about English... I think it will probably stay pretty much the same.

I haven't seen that many people taking OCR Media, but if anyone does and has suggestions of films they might use for the exam let me know... my teacher thinks The Hunger Games, me more so along the lines of the Avengers.

And if anyone has any predictions for Sociology PLEASE let me know... I think the 4 mark question in Crime and Deviance will ask about the dark figure of crime, or some sort of white collar crime. Sociology is the one I'm dreading

I think its easier in the sense that you can easily pick up marks for the slightest bit of working out. There are way more marks awarded for working out in OCR - well at least thats what my teachers are telling me!
