I have had a year out of work through a back injury. I was signed off by my neurosurgeon and told to rest for 12 months to let my back recover. I am now being told I am fit for work by the work capability assessment and my surgeon is happy with my recovery but has told me to only return to work when I feel 100 percent ready. I was wanting to take a little more time out before looking for work and was wondering if you can sign on the doll to keep your national insurance contributions going but not claim the job seekers allowance as I'm not ready to look for work.

    Anybody any ideas on this???
