    Usually cheaper, doesn't need Steam to download or play, don't need to get past DRM, more professional and friendly company. Steam stopped being the cheapest around 2011.

    Dude you don't buy PC games at full price. That's not their real price. Outlast is worth about £2.30. GOG nearly always beats or at least matches Steam on price during one of the sales. Key sites too if you want to go that route.

    I don't get it? It says the price is 15.99 on outlast so if I went on basket it would be £3??

    No one buys PC games at 'full price' unless they're really desperate. There are so many sales and discounts all year round that, when we want a game, we wait for a sale, even on pre-orders let alone for an older game like Outlast. Thus GOG is cheaper for this one.
