    I have only been back at university for 2 days and already I feel so so lonely and down. I don't really have any friends at uni, I talk to people in my class but I have no one to do things with. I only live with two other people who I don't talk to (mainly because they are rarely in as they live close to the university or because they are with their boyfriends. I have also recently got out of a relationship which has also effected me) so I'm always in the flat on my own. I dread coming back to my flat because I know I will just be sat in my room, trying to figure out what to do with myself, and I usually just end up overthinking about silly things. I've been thinking about dropping out and reapplying next year maybe, but I am enjoying my course, its just the loneliness I'm quite a shy person and I find it difficult talking to new people. Has anyone experienced this and have any advice?

    Definitely reconsider dropping out. You don't want to put yourself back just because you're lonely when you're enjoying the course. Maybe you could join some societies? They're a really good way to meet new people who have similar interests. A lot schedule nights out and coffee dates and stuff as well so you'll have people to go out with Maybe you'd also consider speaking to support services at your uni about how you're feeling. It could make all the difference to have someone to talk to about everything
