is the 14 bravais crystals seen in metals? Also what is the difference between these crystal structures and packing structures in metals like cubic close pack and body centred cubic

This is quite a complex question. Yes the 14 bravais lattice structures are seen in metals. Body centred cubic is actually one of the 14 lattice types. Cubic close packed merely describes the packing structure, whereas the lattice type also describes the symmetry of the structure. All crystalline materials must, by definition fit in one of the 14 bravais lattice types.

thank you for your reply, i still think i am confused between lattices and packing structure i understand that the 14 lattice types are seen in solids, does the packing stucture just tell you how each unit cell from the 14 lattices stack? So for a hexagonal closed pack you have combinations of the lattices? To form the hexagon layers
