Basically the Normans mastered horse-riding and had a thing called a Stirrup (which meant they could deliver the power of the horse through their lance). The English hadn't invented that, so they got ****ed over eternally every time they tried to face up to the Normans. Furthermore, the Normans built a ****-ton of castles whereas the English just had Wooden fortifications which meant the Normans could go and rape a village and then go and hide in their castle without repurcussions.
