Hello, I'm doing some work for my English language lesson and I've confused myself. In the phrase 'On the eve of a much-anticipated visit to the Oval Office,' is the word 'visit' being used as a verb or noun?

(The full sentence is 'On the eve of a much-anticipated visit to the Oval Office, the prime minister used a speech to Republican leaders in Philadelphia to pledge that the two countries “have a joint responsibility to lead”, but not as they did before.' if that helps) Thanks!

It's a noun. One clue is the use of the determiner 'a' in front, although this is less obvious because of the adjective 'much-anticipated'.
