Hi, I've been accepted onto a PGCE course. The course costs around £9000 but I've seen a post stating the maximum anyone can borrow from Student Finance is £10,000, is this correct? Starting to worry as that only leaves £1000 for a maintenance loan but I will need over £6000 to cover rent/bills/food/petrol etc. I can get a £4000 bursary for getting a 2:1 on my BA course, but even with that, I'm still short.

PGCE course funding is the same as undergraduate funding - so you'll get a loan for your tuition fees (covering the full amount) and another for your living costs plus the bursary.

The £10k loans are for Masters (MA) courses not for PGCE courses.
