It doesn't really matter since both teams didn't even reach the final

Well played by the Mumbai Indians this game against Gujarat Lions. I originate from Gujarat (family from there) but I have supported Mumbai before the Gujarat team even existed so was really torn on who to support that game haha.

Hope RCB takes the win in the second game. They are a really entertaining team especially with their quality top order batsmen. Especially Kohli and AB.

Mumbai Indians posted 177 for 4 to beat Gujarat Lions, who made 176 for 4.

Another chase was aced at the Wankhede after McCleneghan posted 2-24, removing Smith second ball (caught by Rana) and Ishan (caught by Pandya for 11), after B-Mac fell to Malinga on 64, and Sharma snaffled Raina off Harbhajan for just under 30. Karthik made 48 unbeaten, before he caught Rana - who made 53 - off Tye. Tye also sent back Pollard, caught by Jadeja, for 39, to post 2-34, and Kumar and Roy combined to remove Patel for 0, and McCullum snaffled Buttler off Patel for 26, leaving Sharma unbeaten on 40.

Rana is the highest run-getter in the tournament now and made it 19 wins for teams batting second in the last 21 matches at Wankhede. Mumbai have four wins in five matches. More pleasingly for them, Rohit's unbeaten 29-ball 40 broke a streak of four single-digit scores. Coming into the game, Rohit had scores of 0, 4, 2 and 3 and each of his dismissals was against spin bowling. He was bowled and lbw twice each, with three legspinners - Imran Tahir, Rashid Khan and Samuel Badree - and Sunil Narine accounting for him. Rana has racked up scores of 53, 11, 45, 50 and 34 and Gujarat were made to rue Roy's drop. Rana was dropped at midwicket on 9 and went on to smash 53 off 36 balls before being dismissed in the 10th over. I've got to be honest, I thought Gujarat's tactics were baffling. Roy came in with just 14 balls remaining, after Ishan.

Tomorrow, Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kings XI Punjab. Sunrisers Hyderabad go into the tie leading 6-2 and are chasing their fifth consecutive win against Kings XI Punjab. They won both games between the sides last year but have lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 17 runs, and lost to Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets, this campaign. They did beat Gujarat Lions by 9 wickets, though. KXIP lost to Delhi Daredevils by 51 runs, lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets, and beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 wickets.

Guptill and Shaun Marsh could come in for KXIP, meaning Morgan and Miller are looking over their shoulders, while Mustafizur will likely to return. After all, he loves this venue - and has seven wickets at 25.85 and an economy-rate of 6.96 in the IPL. Last year, he also picked up2-9 in four overs against Kings XI. It could all mean Ben Cutting will be dropped. Sunrisers have a 10-1 record chasing at home. Overall, chasing teams have lost only two of the last ten games played there. Sunrisers wicketkeeper Naman Ojha has been in an extended rut in the IPL. He averaged 13.60 and 13.70 in the last two seasons with a highest score of only 37.

Warner loves playing against Kings XI (he has scored half-centuries - 52, 59, 81, 58 - in each of his last four matches) but how will he deal with spin? In IPL 2017, spin has dominated the first innings of matches in Hyderabad. Pacers conceded 266 runs off 162 balls (economy of 9.85) in the first innings while spinner conceded only 76 runs off 78 balls (5.84). Amla vs. Nehra is intriguing, too: in ODIs, he has 77 runs in 48 balls and in IPL, he has scored 25 runs off 11 deliveries. Rashid has bowled inside the Powerplay in every IPL game this season. He has also taken a wicket off his first over every time.

You've also got Delhi Daredevils v Kolkata Knight Riders. Knight Riders have won 10 out of the 17 matches between the two sides. At Feroz Shah Kotla, Daredevils' home ground, Knight Riders have won four out of six matches. This year, KKR beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs; beat Kings XI Punjab by eight wickets; and lost to Mumbai Indians by four wickets. Delhi beat Kings XI Punjab by 51 runs; beat Rising Pune Supergiant by 97 runs; lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 15 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan could be coming in for Chris Woakes or Colin de Grandhomm because the pitch is likely to be slow. Delhi have an economy rate of 6.44 in the last five overs, the lowest for all teams, and Woakes has taken wickets for Knight Riders but has had an economy rate of under 10 in only one out of four matches. What will be interesting is how Delhi handle Uthappa/Gambhir. Zaheer Khan and Chris Morris have enjoyed success against them, dismissing Uthappa twice, with an average of 20.5 and 13 respectively. Gambhir has an average of 20.2 against Zaheer and has been dismissed five times by the bowler.

KKR have scored a total of 224 runs in the Powerplay at a run rate of 9.20. Of these, Gambhir has scored 105 runs off 68 balls. His current strike rate of 154 is already his second best in Powerplays in IPL, after the 2012 IPL. It isn't just Morris and Zaheer Khan that Uthappa is vulnerable against. Amit Mishra has dismissed him four times in 10 innings in the IPL.

Where will it end for RCB? Another poor result, going down to Pune by 27 runs. They made 134-9 after RPS posted 161-8. Milne and Aravind posted 2-29 and 2-27 respectively, the latter removing Smith for 29 and Christian (caught by Mandeep) for 1 and the former claiming Stokes (bowled for 2) and Thakur, caught by ABDV for a golden duck. Badree and Watson bowled Rahane for 30 and Dhoni for 28, Kohli caught Tripathi off Negi for 31, and Tiwary was ran out for 27. In reply, Thakur posted 3-35 (bowling Binny for 18, Negi caught by Tripathi for 10 and Dhoni catching Mandeep for a duck) and Stokes 3-18 (Kohli caught by Rahane for 28, Watson clean bowled for 16 and Milner bowled for 2), and Unadkat bowled Jadvav for 18 and Badree for a golden duck, while Dhoni stumped ABDV off Tahir for 29.

Pune's middle-order froze, losing five wickets for minimal runs, but their bowlers bailed them out of trouble in emphatic fashion. Pune sprinted to 50 for 0 in five overs but Smith/Dhoni were strangled, and faced a total of 49 deliveries out of which 22 became dots. Pune went from 127 for 2 to 130 for 7. But Christian, Stokes, Thakur and Jaydev Unadkat all bowled an assortment of slower balls, and made sure they got over the line.

Tiwary was my man of the match, managing 27 off 11 balls on a pitch where Dhoni, Smith and Watson - even Stokes - struggled to get going. What could have been 140 bowled out or 145 for 9 was 160+ for 8 thanks to Tiwary. Tiwary's strike rate in this match: 245.45. He now has 98 runs off 61 balls this IPL season. Among batsmen who have faced a minimum of 60 balls, Tiwary's is the second-best strike rate, behind only Chris Lynn

KKR beat Delhi, posting 169 for 6 in reply of 168 for 7. Coulter-Nile claimed 3-22, bowling Nair for 21, having Pant caught by Gambhir for 38, and having Billings caught by Uthappa for 21, after Yadav and Uthappa combined to send back Samson for 39, and Mathews was clean bowled by Narine for 1. Woakes and Yadav combined to send back Morris for 16, and Iyer was run out for 26.

In reply, KKR were undermined by Khan and Cummins, who posted 2-28 and 2-39, removing Gambhir and de Grandhomme (caught by Mathews and Billings for 14 and 1 respectively) and Yadav and Uthappa, caught by Khan and Pant for 7 and 4 respectively. But Pandey struck an unbeaten 69, and Morris caught and bowled Pathan for 59, as the damage was done and Kolkata got over the line. Pant stumped Woakes off Mishra for 3, too, meaning they achieved the highest successful IPL chase for a side losing three wickets in the first three overs.

Pathan and Pandey rescued them from 21 for 3 with the first century fourth-wicket partnership in the IPL for a team three down for under 25. When Yusuf fell, KKR needed 38 off 31, and Daredevils scrambled hard and brought it down to eight required off three balls, which Pandey managed with one ball to go.

Daredevils, the slowest side in the middle overs - seven to 15 - were once again left to rue a slow start and it was Pant - 38 off 16 - who took them to a fighting total. Samson, the only century-maker this term, has a habit of being ponderous. In his century feat, he flew to 35 off 19 but then took only 13 off the next 19. Today, he went from 27 off 12 to just 12 off the next 13 balls. And Nair's form is also a problem. Since his 300+ vs England in the Test series, he is yet to put together an innings of 30 in any format of official cricket. His sub-100 strike rate is hurting Delhi and today he made just a 27-ball 21. Pant took 6, 4, 6, 6, 4 to consign Umesh to his worst IPL over, but Narine and Coulter-Nile were great.

KKR would have been worrying when Gambhir and Uthappa - two of the team's biggest match-winners - were dismissed and 85% of the chase was still left. This was only the fourth time in 10 IPL seasons that a team has successfully chased a target after losing three wickets inside three overs. It was the first time that KKR's No. 4 and No. 5 batsmen had hit fifties in the same innings, and Pandey became the season's top-run getter with his 69 not out. His tally is 221 - exactly the same as his average because he has been dismissed only once in four innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab are playing now in Hyderabad. SRH posted a score of 159-7 with David Warner scoring 70 not out. He was helped by N Ohja who scored 34 off of 20 balls but otherwise Hyderabad scored low on a pitch in which 170+ is needed to win.

Mohammad Nabi made his IPL debut and scored 2 off of 3 balls but Rashid Khan scored 6 off of 2 not out, with a 6 that went into the KXIP dugout on the last ball.

KXIP are currently batting in response and Hashim Amla went for a golden duck off the 1st ball from Bhuvuneshwar Kumar (who has further extended his purple cap lead). the 1st over has finished and the score is currently 6-1.

Tiwary was excellent yesterday. It seemed Pune would barely reach 140 when they lost five wickets for three runs and, walking in to bat in the 17th over, Tiwary did not have the time to line up bowlers like Dhoni did. He simply had to go from the first ball. It helped that he was in form and had scores of 40 not out and 31 in his two knocks so far. He won the battle between himself and Watson, who bowled full and wide. Tiwary scored 27 off 11 balls and Royal Challengers found that their potential chase of 140 had grown to a target of 162. The hosts eventually fell 27 runs short.

Before the start of the IPL, his strike rate across 132 T20 matches stood at 114.75. This season, he has blasted 98 runs at a strike rate of 160.65. Pune will surely send him in ahead of Christian next time out. This was a pitch where five specialist batsmen faced 20 balls or more and ended up with a strike rate of 120 or less. Another faced 18 balls for 14 runs.

RCB lack balance, especially in the overseas arena. Vettori and the team management strengthened their bowling by leaving out Chris Gayle for Shane Watson against Pune and Milne was brought in for his first game of the season at the expense of Tymal Mills. As a result, the batting order was shuffled around for the third time in as many matches, and the slow surface exposed RCB's struggles. Chasing 162, they did not hit a single four and struck only one six between the fourth and 15th overs. The expectation is on AB and Virat to excel, but they need the likes of Mandeep, Jadhav, Watson and Stuart Binny to complement their performances.

Sunrisers Hyderabad post 159 for 6 to beat Kings XI Punjab, who made 154. Warner made 70 not out, but Sharma posted 2-25 (removing Dhawan, caught by Saha for 15, and Hooda, caught by Sandeep for 12), and Patel claimed 2-39 (Henriques and Yuvraj, both caught by Saha for 9 and 1 respectively), while Cariappa and Sandeep sent back Ohja, caught by Saha for 34, and Nabi, caught by Miller for 3.

In reply, Bruvneshwar claimed 5-19, removing Cariappa (clean bowled for 1), Sharma (caught by Dhawan for 10), Amla and Vohra (both trapped in front for 0 and 95 respectively), and Maxwell, caught by Warner for 10. Rashid claimed 2-42, bowling Miller and Saha for 1 and 0, while Sharma was bowled by Kaul, Morgan by Nabi for 13, and Dhawan snaffled Patel off Henriques for 7.

Vohra's 95 off 50 balls revived a floundering chase, taking Kings XI Punjab to within 15 runs of victory, but Bhuvneshwar took two wickets in the 19th over to finish with 5 for 19. This was Bhuvneshwar's maiden IPL five-for. He has taken 15 wickets in five matches so far, and he has removed five batsmen in single digits this IPL, behind only team-mate Rashid's six such strikes. Bhuvneshwar's 5.4 an over is the third-best economy rate this IPL, and the best among quicks. Shahbaz Nadeem and Samuel Badree are the only ones stingier than him.
