I wouldn't mind knowing either. Looking forward to actually have an excuse to use a gym for a change.

Yeah I looked at gyms at other unis and most of them charge 5 times as much for a year. Just hope it isn't too crowded at peak times as it means people queing to use certain machines and not being able to get the most out of your workout.

I looked on the site, and it says that some of the stuff is included in the membership price, although I think that's just weights and a few other things like that.

I'll be using treadmills and the weights room a lot (I hope the barbell goes up to a decent weight). They also have a good climbing centre too.

So does anyone here know how busy it is?

having only ever walked into the building and past the windows, I'm not the best qualified to answer that, but I'd say it's not normally too crowded. It is popular... but as everyone gets into a regime, it tends to get less busy (i.e. a month or so into term). People get lazy :p: Plus it'll depend on the times you go in... obviously not many people will go in the mornings... especially after a few bevvies the previosu night.

gym is the best hangover cure ever. well, dependant upon severity of hangover. I have found it makes me feel even worse if I'm at that "do I, do I not feel sick" stage. lovely.

I'm right next to it, hurrah!

sit ups + hangover = not good :p:

Still can't believe it's only £1.25 out of peak time. The gyms near me charge 3or 4 quid at any time.

Well I've been going to the gym every Mon-Fri and and it is pretty decent (certainly better than some of the weights rooms I saw in other unis).
