    Hi,

To put you in the picture, I'm currently a second year marketing student, I also care for my Grandma and commute back and forth to university.

I'm struggling, juggling everything is taking it toll, the first year I though it was hard and trailed a unit. The start of the second year is a nightmare I've messed up a unit completely and I'm at a point where I don't no what I want anymore.

Part of me wants to carry on with university, no one in my family has ever been. However, I know I'm not making the most of it some of it is my own fault I've allowed my self to wallow, aside from looking after my grandma I worked nights recently quit, I found juggling too much.

My grandma has dementia and is getting worse, her care needs are increasing. I love her greatly and I will not see her in a home I suppose my question is do I carry on with uni or get a job and save so I can support my self whilst caring it's complicated and I have no idea what to do. Any one else in this situation or have any recommendations it would be much appreciated

    is your course 3 years?

if so I would say stick with it as you may regret it.

if you are seriously considering dropping out I would say sit down and think about what you actually want

do you just want a piece of paper that says you have a fancy degree or do you want to enter into the marketing field?

in terms of your grandmother i know it would be hard to do but with her interests in mind it may be worth considering a home otherwise that may not be doing either of you any good, you would still be able to see her regularly and know that she has the care she needs.

If this is done you can then focus on uni and look for work again

I hope this helps in some way

Thanks for replying, it's 4 year, sandwich placement year.

I wanted to do the course as a lot of marketing roles require a degree.

I appreciate what you are saying about a home however, under no circumstances would I ever put her through that, she brought me up.

    I just don't no.

Couldn't you just do 3 years? Usually the sandwich year is an additional course to a standard 3 year one (idk tho!)
