I really want to do the veterinary nursing degree in 2 years time when I leave school, and I have been advised to get some experience working in a hospital pathology (Not entirely sure if I mean pathology, whatever lab does blood testing etc!!) lab, does anyone know what hospitals would be prepared to take me? My friend tried the QE2 and they won't take her.
    Thanks

You'll have to do a bit of work emailing or writing to various hospitals I'm afraid, unless you know some people who can get you a placement. School careers office maybe?

Yeah, I am going to have to phone up some places, but I know that the two local hospitals to me won't take people because my friend has tried but my aunt is going to ask her local when she goes for physio! Thanks!

it can often be difficult to get work experience in hospitals but the best way to do it is through contacts, talk t6o everyone you know, friends, family etc and find out if any of them work in that sort of area/know someone who does who might be able to set up some work experience for you. you should also write personal letters to the labs and ask them, try different labs in the same hospital - microbiology, bio-chemistry, pathology etc, just cos one department turns you down doesn't mean another will. oh and i guess it'd help if you able to be so flexible as possible so you could fit in with them.
keep trying, you'll get something in the end!

Dont worry if you cannot find any placements as work experience is not always a key factor in gaining you admission to your degree.
