Congratulations!!! Great way to start the week  Just out of curiosity where are you from?

I'm hoping that they haven't sent out the Victorian ones yet since I haven't heard anything :s-smilie:

Did anyone receive an offer from the Blavatnik School (master of public policy) ???

Yup...a sweet mail of rejection.
Hope you had better luck than me.

Some DPhil offer letters for English arrived today, but they were sent by internal post, which may or may not be faster than Royal Mail letters.

(Also they made some kind of terrible misjudgement and offered me a place and money.)

Congratulations!

Totally with you on the misjudgement - half expecting an email apologising for an administrative error...

Another English MSt update - I got in! Got the letter today (which was dated for the 15th), for the 18th century strand. Really chuffed.

In terms of funding, I've been nominated for a Faculty studentship, but I won't know if I've got that till early April - I know people say if you're 'nominated' for AHRC that basically means you've got it, but not sure if the same rule applies for Faculty-based funding. Oh well, crossing my fingers and waiting it out for a very nervous couple of weeks!

Lots of good luck to those who are still waiting, hopefully you'll hear something soon!

Let us know how the funding goes! Well done!

Definitely faster - pidge post has two collections and two deliveries a day, from what I remember. I wonder if they still have the postlady who sings as she cycles...

Interesting -- in that case, they didn't send the internal letters immediately after printing them, because mine is dated the 15th too.

Amazingly still nothing in the post from the History department. Bearing in mind they told me 2 weeks ago all the decisions had been made and I found out (informally via email) the outcome of my application 10 days ago! Had I no done so I think I'd have totally lost my mind by now.

Can I ask if you used your college as your postal address on the application form? I'm wondering if my decision letter is going to end up my pidge while I'm away for Easter!
All of this chatter about English offers! Ah! Sure do hope they posted mine. It would take a few days to get to the U.S.--this is my solace.

So, back when applied for my undergraduate in the US (I'm really dating myself here), all decisions came by post. The accepted wisdom then was that a small envelope meant a rejection, and a large A4 sized packet meant acceptance. Does this hold true for Oxford these days? Or do acceptances also arrive in standard small envelopes?

Hi everyone.
Has anybody heard from Somerville?
I applied for the Nov deadline and received a letter of acceptance by late Jan.
I'm still waiting for a response from a college. Is this delay normal?
Thanks and sorry for my probably unjustified worry.

Acceptances can also arrive in small envelopes - they may send out further financial/whatever information later, or by email.

Good to know. Many thanks.

My offers (for English) came in small envelopes, both this year and last year.

Hello guys, I need an advice from most of you. What do you think the likelihood of success will be in getting admitted to a postgrad program in Oxford given that I applied in November and was told that my application was re-evaluated twice (once in January and now again)!!

From what I remember, I think I used my college as my term-time postal address and my family home as my permanent address.

Twice? Wow, that is unusual.:s-smilie: How frustrating. Still, the department must think that you've got a realistic chance of getting an offer, otherwise they would have saved themselves the extra work and just not bothered with the reevaluation. So I suppose that's a thought to cling to...
Hey all,

Just got an offer - so excited to study the Comparative Social Policy MSC. Does anyone know what conditional offers are like? =( I don't like having to wait for post!!
