Geez that's a lot. Do you send them a bank statement with the 42k? Who even has that amount?!

Well, that's why every year a lot of people can't take up their offers after failing to secure funding.:dontknow: I don't think it has to be actual money in your account, though. A statement from your bank saying they're willing to let you take out a loan for that amount would also work.

Hi! I applied for it as well! Jan deadline. I was told by the department that we'll hear back from them in early Feb, which means we should hear sth by the end of next week. Can I ask what's your profile?

I received an email saying that i will be hearing from them in late March.. where did you hear them saying early Feb? Did you call them?

Sorry,, im asking like a kid...

Hi,
Just got an offer for the M.St. general ling & comp philology - is there anyone else doing/going to do this course (or the 2year Mphil) focusing on the general linguistics stuff? I also hold an offer from Cambridge and altho I prefer the idea of Oxford Im not sure which offer to accept... Esp since Cam has more students and seems to have more opportunities to study general ling. Aarrgh :s-smilie:

omg, they already sent out offers???
congrats!!

Probably no more than Oxbridge is generally. I wouldn't have thought getting in was the problem, so much as winning funding. Then again that's probably less crucial for a one year course.
I'm at the University of East Anglia

I'm doing a comparison of large online communities and using Bourdieu to suggest some changes to how the relationship between online and offline practices and effects are understood

If you look up last year's Oxford application thread (same name, different year in the title), there was a user applying for your course who got in. I'm sure they might not mind you dropping them a PM  They had an apple icon as an avatar.

yes i'm in england doing international relations. what do you want to work on at OII?
I know that they're going to get back to us early Feb because when I submitted my app I emailed the course convenor to find out when I can hear back and that's what he told me. i'm assuming they're either going to send a rejection, invite for an interview or give an offer if they have no doubts.

I'm also in contant with Cohens and as an "inside guy" he confirmed this.

really cant wait to hear back! it like my dream cours:rolleyes:

Hi! I applied for the MSt (1800–1914) in January (the only deadline...) but it seems everyone on here either applied for early modern or contemporary. Any other Victorianists out there?

I'm 1660-1830. Good luck with your application .
