I phoned and asked. The decisions have all been made but they need to be signed off by the Director of Graduate Studies or something, which takes time.
Thanks for letting us know.
In completely unrelated news, I'm suddenly very nervous.

Yep likewise. I already have offers for elsewhere but Oxford is my first choice. I would be very pleased to even get a place. However I think the chances of my getting funding are pretty much none-existent!
All this talk about the decisions for other subjects just makes me want a time frame for when the English decisions come out. Keep trying to remember that English is "late March" and history is "mid-March" but it's not really helping my nerves!

Agreed! I don't believe other universities would get away with such a vague decisions calendar. If they did, I'd push them to pin down their decision dates but when I tried that with Oxford they said 'mmm...mid or late March...' so didn't really help.
I'm applying for English & American Lit stream, how about you? I got rejected from Cambridge last week (my research proposal didn't seem to match up to anyone's interests there) so crossing my fingers for Oxford.

I'm applying for the 1800–1914 strand! I know it seems pretty cruel actually. Especially since when we finally do start hearing there's no standard way anyone can expect to find out. I'm not currently at the address I listed for them, so if they send it by post I'm going to have someone open the letter for me. Terrible. I'm hoping since I'm an international applicant that they'll send an email (seems to be the case usually). Sorry to hear about Cambridge but good luck with Oxford! Did you list a college preference?

Sorry to hear about Cambridge; all the best for Oxford .

Did you apply to English too? Which stream?
@Chipper I applied to New College. I grew up near Oxford and know some well, some not so well, and places like New College & Wadham really struck me as being traditional/beautiful looking but laid back in attitude. How about you?

I was a visiting student last year and ended up in a college I wouldn't have picked initially, but absolutely loved. Instead of applying there, which in hindsight I kind of regret, I figured I'd leave it up to fate (a little embarrassingly romantic I guess). I'll just be so happy to get in... blegh.
Economic & Social History. There is so little funding around for this course, and that which there is (ESRC) is not very well targeted so you have PhD and MSc applicants competing for the same funds. Unlike the AHRC, they do not have dedicated Research Preparation Masters funding, which is a pretty stupid idea.
This is the only funding I might conceivably get. The chances of getting Departmental/Clarendon funding are so remote as to not be worth considering.
That said a partial scholarship from a College would help massively.
Waiting for a MSc GGD application result, current 3rd year PPE-ist here already. Play potentially my last game for the uni rugby team tomorrow and v sad about it
I don't want to leave. It's truly an incredible place - you love it and hate it at the same time, but when the time comes to leave it all behind you really really don't want to.
Plus the GGD course is outstanding and perfect for what I'm interested in. Ahhhhhhhhh. Cannae stand the wait. Get more and more pessimistic every day!

I do Imperial History. I'm also applying as an overseas student, which means the competition for money is insanely intense.
I suppose we should just concentrate all our hope on getting in.
