You have my sympathies. I was going slightly mad until I eventually found out.

Thanks, you got it by post then?

Rejection by email.
Weird, the boyfriend dreamt that I got in, told me when we woke up, I checked my email and then it's the opposite.

Sorry to hear that (sometimes wish there was a dislike button rather than just neg rep!)

No I had made prior arrangements for advanced notification by email, purely because I had other offers which were time-contingent and I needed an answer before the other offers expired.

The confirmation will come through post though, I was told.

Sorry to hear that. I still haven't received anything from them. But I'm scared..

Hello you! No we haven't heard and it's driving me mad! You could always ask for an early response (as apparently decisions are already made & offers are waiting to go out) but unless you need to know maybe it's unfair on the cohort who are all waiting. How did Cambridge go?

Nothing happening on the Cambridge front either I'm afraid! Still stuck on Degree Committee.

Oh no, I'm worried about this decisions-via-mail situation now. After the 17th of this month I will be out of the UK, and won't be back until the 23rd of April. Neither of my two housemates will be in either, so any post sent to the address I've put down in my application as my current address will sit there for a month, while I'm back home. Unless they will send their decision to both 'home' and 'current' addresses...

Either way, I think I better call them sometime and request an email notification. americanshx, did you just call the Eng Dept number on the main course guide page?

Officially rejected from Oxford's BPhil in Philosophy, :frown: but admitted into Cambridge's MPhil

I applied to the MSc in Global Health Science back in October. The webpage for the programme gives the link to the timeline for application decisions which says late March onwards, BUT another part of the page says that applicants will be notified of the decision mid-May by letter only. !!!!
Anybody know which of these is correct? I'm about dying thinking I'll have to wait a full 7 months to hear the decision on my application. Meanwhile, I have other offers to respond to.

Regarding the Mlitt's in English:

I just spoke to the nice lady at the Graduate Office, who has informed me, like others on this thread previously, that the decisions haven't all been made yet. I asked if I could be emailed with the results, to which she said that I should send them an email requesting this, but that they can't promise anything.

They said that the decisions will start being sent out from next week till the end of March...good news, given my personal tutor here at Warwick was saying that I shouldn't be surprised if they come in April

Well I really hope that they send me mine by email, because my mailing address is in Denmark, and snail-mail to there would take light years..

I got an offer from UCL to which I'm asked to reply by the 15th of March (next week) so I'm a bit stuck as to what to do...

Next week onwards is a bit quicker than I expected. Thanks for letting us know  - did you say you're applying for an MLitt in English?

as an international student i have actually received both from the engineering science department, first a quick email and then a postal mail.

I applied for MSc(Res) in Engineering by Jan 20 deadline but havent heard from them yet. Did you apply for DPhil or MSc(Res) and when did you apply if you dont mind. I am finding it harder to wait. Thanks

Thanks. I shall keep posting any updates I get on funding etc. However I think there is basically a 0% chance of my getting funding.

I applied for DPhil in November deadline.......so don worry its not too late yet to hear a good news for January deadline applicants....
Sorry if it's a daft question, but are offers sent out via email as well as in the post? I'm in America at the moment and in lieu of a CAMSIS-type system, I find myself a little puzzled at the process and timetable for hearing about offers.

Thanks!

Thankyou very much
I've received an e-mail from a university scholarship programme requesting some information regarding the eligibility criteria. Would this imply that I have already been accepted to my academic programme?

I applied for the MSt in the History of Art at the Faculty of History, no (e-)mails regarding the admission as of yet.

Essentially, do they first process the academic application and then send it to a university-wide scholarship programme, or do they process these applications simultaneously?

My only dealings have been with the history department, so I can't comment directly, but that kind of date spread/discrepancy sounds to me like the March date is for admissions and the May for funding decisions.

But don't quote me.

They make decisions over who to admit first, and then submit recommendations for funding to the various decision making bodies for each scholarship.

However, whether this means you have already got a place depends upon the scholarship. Did you apply for it separately? The scholarship board may just be clarifying whether you are eligible independent of the admissions decisions.

Although it must be said, all of the admissions decisions for the History faculty have been made already.
