    Hey guys,
Looking at the frequency of plants without fertilisers, the total is 59. Since the data is continuous, isn't the median just n/2 = 29.5th value. However, looking at the correct answer, I understand I should have used the 30th value to find the median. I don't understand why. I thought discrete data was n+1/2 and continuous n/2...
Also, I am having difficulty distinguishing between discrete and continuous data. I know discrete can be counted i.e. s numerical and continuous can be measured, but then what?
    Thanks in advance!

I wouldve thought that because 59 is an odd number, adding 1 and then dividing by two would be better.

So would this always be the case? Regardless of whether the data is continuous or discrete, if t's an odd number always add one then/2?
    Thanks
