    how does each perspective link to self harm and addiction?

    That is a very, very broad question. Were you given which perspectives to look into? If not, I can suggest the 'main' ones to research.

    Also, self-harm and addiction, although sometimes comorbid are very separate in terms of risk, cause and treatment.

    I would suggest possibly looking into psychodynamic perspective (Freud)
    Nature (environment) vs nurture (biological) perspective (is addiction caused by genes, innate etc, or is it learned through environment/experiences)
    Same with self-harm as it is often a consequence of mental health problems (Nature vs nurture is a dominant argument in this area, and Freud has much to say about mental ill-health!)
