I have to write back to a university which asked me what language I was planning to major in. I'm not from an english speaking country so I would really appreciate it if you could tell me if my email is correct or correct eventual mistakes.

    Dear Ms .....

I am writing to confirm that I am planning to major in Spanish for the Liberal Arts course commencing September 2017.

I look forward to hearing from you,
    Yours sincerely,
    ...... (my name)

That's really good quality English, nicely put

Just put another line after 'hearing from you' to separate it between that and 'Yours sincerely' and I think you're good to go!
