Hello, I am a year 10 student. I had to take my Textile GCSE course after school, as there weren't enough students to do it in the school hours. This meant after school there were younger years that come to "textile club". This means I cant concentrate on my GCSE.
I have lessons outside of school for textiles, not run by the school, so I have around 2 Hours of textiles a week. Not including what I decide to do in my "free" time, so I don't have many new skills to learn.
This made the teacher suggest I do the GCSE early, I said no as I felt I should go through the two years. Now more younger years are attending after school textiles, it seems the best I can do is to get it over and done with, as more younger years are coming after school.
I am fully aware i am running out of time to complete the coursework along with the year 11s to have it marked this year. Even if I don't hit the deadline this year it may be good to get it out the way and get it marked with the 2 other year 10 students.
I have some questions because the teacher I have, doesn't seem to like to guide me in the right direction and I don't want to be wasting my time doing something wrong, so I would really appreciate someone to help me so I can get a good grade as this is the only GCSE that I was really wanting. The questions I wanted to ask are:
As there is a new GCSE, what year is the new exam board for design for textiles? I am the year of 2013, so I am taking my GCSEs in 2018. I don't know if it is AQA, or if it is different.
Also I heard that you have to follow a set theme for the exam board for your product in textiles. However I cant find what these themes are and if they would get changed for 2018 marking, if I cant get my work in for 2017.
These are the two questions I really need and want these answers, that no one seems to be helping with. If you have any advice it would be massively appreciated and no one seem to be telling me what i'm doing at all. I want to pass the GCSE. So any extra information would be really lovely about what I need to know about the course
