When I was young, I used to study at an American school, and got accustomed to the American way of spelling things(ie meters not metres). In my school now, they do GCSEs, and now I'm a bit worried that the examiners will deduct marks for spelling. Should I be concerned, or is it fine to write meters, color, etc?

A meter is a device for measuring how much electricity you use. A metre is a unit of measurement, so yes, it matters, especially in an English exam.Last edited by gbob; 03-02-2017 at 12:18. Reason: further explanation

It should be okay if your spelling is consistent.
