    TBF the Stopford Building in Manchester is pretty damn ugly. Another health sciences building. Apparently the concrete frieze at the top stops it from getting it redeveloped as it's protected or something...

    It does look horrible.. like a building from the communist era!
    Otherwise, the faculty in Edinburgh is situated in one of the best spots in the city which compensates a little bit

    MMU's Psychology building just down the road from there could give it a run for the money. It could drive you crazy just looking at it for a few minutes!

    In terms of the environment immediately surrounding the uni, I would say that York is actually one of the most beautiful unis in the UK. Nottingham would also be in with a shout if you don't worry too much about buildings.

    Nottingham has great buildings generally speaking. A mix of history and future to them.
