    Why then, would they be competent to vote?
    The law establishes mechanisms in which the minor makes all those decisions under supervision, but with e.g. owning property the minor still owns the beneficial interest in the property (which, taking a holistic view, is what's important). With wills, the laws of intestacy effectively operate to mean that everyone has a will. With bank accounts, again, they are capable of being in positions where they're effectively making all those decisions themselves.

    Furthermore, even if one accepts your basic position, the argument would obviously be that the arbitrary line drawn for those is drawn in the wrong place.
