Hi i'm currently in year 10 and I would like to study and understand the material for my GCSE's before memorising it. I have recently come across 'the forgetting curve'.As of now, I have honestly not looked back thoroughly on what I have learnt.Could you give me advice on how structure how/how many times I should revise and study material.

im in yr 11 now and just done my mocks. what i found really helpful were end of topic tests (which really consolidate your knowledge and make sure you understand the content) that meant that when i came to my end of year ten internal exams i revised everything again and so when i came to mocks i just practised pass papers (for sciences and maths) to highlight what i did and didnt know in each subject and get used to what the mark schemes are looking for. id say the most useful thing i did in year ten was making all my notes for each end of topic test so i didnt have to waste time writing them when i came to mocks and 'wasting time'. i wouldnt stress about it though as long as you realise you need to revise!! hope that makes sense! good luck!
