Hi! So I was looking at the website for BSc Maths at Durham, and it said that optional modules could include various arts/humanities modules. However, I couldn't find examples of what these arts/humanities modules were. I'm currently interested in joint maths and music degrees but I'd also be open to studying mainly maths but having a couple of interjections of music here and there. So I guess my question is, do these arts/humanities modules include certain music modules?

Hi, sorry this is a really late reply but on the off chance you're still interested I found these three open modules on the full list here that are put on by the Music Faculty if you are interested. I think you can pick two of these three modules as part of your Maths course, at least that's what my friend said about Maths at Durham. I don't know if these are the areas of music you are interested in but here they are:

    Ethonomusicology

    Historical Studies

Analysis 1: Elements of Tonal Theory and Practise

    Hope that this helps!
