Two weeks ago i decided start and Open University course. One week ago I decided to study BSc Natural Science (Physics). This week I have now considered Engineering and Computing & IT...
I'm not set on a certain career I want after finishing a degree. I want something well paid and that i enjoy like everyone else I'm sure. I've looked at Teaching, Research and Software Developer. There are aspects I enjoy in each of these fields.
I have been reading up tons of information about all three of these subjects. I was dead set on physics a week ago. but after reading into the course details and looking at posts and replies on this forums I feel the lack of practical lab work would limit my options for career prospects with careers in research etc.
I looked at engineering because of the similarity with physics. I know they are completely different subjects but the similarities are abundant. I feel the course would give me more job opportunities in the end due to some residential school modules. But this most likely steers away from research.
Computing & IT I would consider as my "safety choice" I am good with IT and know a fair bit in terms of software development. And I believe businesses are crying out for software developers (Could be wrong).
I know this question is ultimately a question I have to ask myself and decide. But some advice would be greatly appreciated.
